just came from ateneo. MY FIRST WEEK OF WORK IS OVER.. congratulate me!!! FAQ 1. how are you feeling? mabaho. pde bang sagot un? i'm feeling very mabaho from all the things i've been doing the whole week. pero alam mo un.. i'd rather feel mabaho from a work that will help people. kesa naman sa bahay lang. mabango ka nga pero halos mabulok ka na. mas mabaho pa un!
2. how is janel feeling? uh.. mabaho rin siguro. i think we're both having fun. masaya syang katrabaho kaya lang nangungurot! lolz.
3. what exactly are you doing? electronics. dealing mostly with wires. untangling 240-m wires that cost P18000, soldering [which i thought was called 'smoldering'.. hehe], labeling wires which will be soldered to a 25-pin connector [the soldering part is really scary. you can't afford to be stupid.]. we also solder alligator clips. in short, we're doing a RESISTIVITY METER.
4. huh? a resistivity meter is used to find groundwater. resistivity is the inverse of current. it will be mounted on a fracture where water flows. the higher the resistivity, the higher the chance of finding fresh water kc less ung salt so ung current, di maxadong nattransport. did i explain that right? i guess so. basta! more or less, it works like that.
5. HUH?! it will be used in sulu where, as boss john ong explained, water is scarce. there's water everywhere since it's an island but the thing is.. they need POTABLE water and most people have no access to that. sad talaga. more than half ng ginagamit nilang tubig ay contaminated. ang daming E. coli sa water so ang result, diarrhea. another problem pa tuloy. making the matters worse is political war and all the other wars in sulu. you know naman that place.. rebels vs. military war site. ung resistivity meter nga, supposedly, iddeploy sa isang certain town kaya lang pinatay dun ung mayor. they need so much more than potable water.
6. ok. how's your boss? bosses. for the time being, si sir john ong muna since ung project nya ung ginagawa namin. un ang pinaka-urgent e. mababait sila. kanina nga e, pinagmerienda kami. nung isang araw, me free halo-halo. o san pa kayo? di nila kami pinapagalitan at hopefully, never nilang gagawin un. parati silang tumatawa. nakakatuwa nga sila e. parang kanina, si sir john, 10 times atang nagcomplain na panget daw ung pang-shave na binili nya kaya nasugat baba nya. tapos nagkkwento sya about his brother na malakas magpatugtog kaya naiinis sya. si ate jenny [genevieve actually] naman, friend sya nina mam dax at sir luy so un.. rakista sya and she's really nice to us.
7. any accidents? besides the swollen fingers and pangingitim, thank God.. wala naman. careful na ako since that lysol incident.
8. what will you be doing next? refer to answers in number 3. besides dun sa mga un, pupunta kaming pampanga for water sampling. pagkatapos ng resistivity meter, siguro dun kami sa ibang projects tutulong.
9. do you like your work? sobra. iniisip ko nga ngayon na eto ung gusto kong career some day. so baka piliin kong curse course ang environmental science. i'm having so much fun soldering [un kc ung naka-assign sa kin na work]. 4 days ago lang, walang wala akong kaalam-alam sa electronics. i even called soldering, smoldering. pero ngayon, i'm doing the things i never thought i would be doing. ang dami kong natutunan so far pero maliban dun, alam kong me patutunguhan ung pagpapagod namin ni janel 7hrs/day. this country needs people like sir john. public service without politics. no need for recognition. enough na ung maserve mo sila. minsan kasi nakakairita ung mga bridges at waiting sheds na nilalagyan pa talaga ng pangalan nung mayor na nagpagawa. sayang sa pintura. sana ginamit na lang sa pedestrian lanes na nabubura. as if namang kanila ung mga tulay at kalye. ano un? kikay kit na pde nilang balandrahan ng name? wala namang purpose kung tutuusin e. inaangkin nila kung ano ang supposedly para sa lahat tapos tinatawag nila ung public service? show off lang sila e. kapeste. hindi naman sila si champ lui-pio.
9. walang kakonek-konek ung ibang mga sagot mo pero sige na nga.. me ikkwento ka pa? oh yeah. nakita ko ung grade school MAJOR crush [as in MAJOR-MAJOR] ko pero di ko sasabihin kung pano. feel ko kasi mababasa nya toh. anyway, nakita ko sya. woohoo! **tapos kanina, for the first time, kinalungkot ko ang pag-gain ko ng weight. halos sumabog na ung jeans na suot ko. **our new kasambahay is pissing my mom off. ang dami nya kasing nababasag. tapos ung bagong favorite ni mama na dress, nasira nung nilalabhan nya. parati silang nag-aaway ng kapatid ko. tulog pa sya nang tulog. di nya tuloy nababantayan ung cousings ko. inis na inis din ung isa naming kasambahay sa kanya. worst of all, SHE ALMOST BURNED OUR HOUSE. oh well, ka-edad ko lang kasi sya e so naiintindihan ko naman kahit papano kung bakit marami syang kasablayan. ganun din siguro ako kung magiging yaya ako.
